Lotuspad was born from my love of yoga and for the little girl in the picture. When she was about 6 months old, Eleanor was already making a bee-line to my yoga mat whenever I unrolled it.

I thought it would be fun for her to have her own tiny yoga/play mat that she could grow into since she seemed to enjoy playing on mine so much. But when I started looking, I discovered that not only were all kids yoga mats made from PVC, a plastic named the “most toxic consumer product ever created,” but most adult mats were too. I was (and still am) amazed that that PVC yoga mats, toys, and other consumer products are still sold. I started Lotuspad to give parents like me an alternative mat for their yoga-loving children.

Eleanor is 2 now, and fully able to do “downward dog with one leg up.” Lotuspad has grown a little too. We have moved beyond our initial focus on child-sized eco yoga mats and now offer a selection of wonderful mats and straps for the fully-grown. We are still a teeny tiny mom-owned and operated company dedicated to offering an incredible product and great, personal customer service.
